Warren Ansell

Warren established the practice in 1999. He has been working as a physio for 25 years and prior to that coached gymnastics, worked as a gym trainer and ran a martial art club. He completed sports physiotherapy studies at Curtin University and then a research masters at University of Newcastle. He works as a student supervisor for University of Newcastle and is involved in research for Sydney and Melbourne University. Has worked at Olympics and national championships and has a strong interest in sport and musculoskeletal injuries. Warren enjoys ultramarathons and triathlons but swims like a rock. 




Maria Mead

Maria has lived and worked in Tamworth for almost 25 years. During that time she has worked in both public and private health, covering many areas of physiotherapy treatment. Her special interest area is women’s pelvic health including the use of real time ultrasound for dynamic bladder assessment. She enjoys being part of the team at Pro-Active.





Anne McNamara

I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours at the University of Sydney in 2003. I returned to Tamworth and begun working at Pro-Active. I have a keen interest in lumbar spine and pelvis rehabilitation including the use of real time ultrasound. I have completed a post-graduate certificate in Continence and Women’s Health and I am currently completing my Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Women’s Health) at Curtin University.  I have experience in treating continence issues, pelvic organ prolapse, men post-prostatectomy, women pre and post childbirth. I work Wednesdays and Fridays, with the rest of my time being spent looking after 3 children, many miniature horses (and one big), and a garden.





Rachel Wood

I completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle and moved to Tamworth shortly after. I treat a wide range of conditions here at Proactive Physiotherapy, but particularly enjoy assisting with rehabilitation and sporting injuries. I am a keen runner and love helping others to become more active in their everyday lives.





Emma Shaw

I completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Master of Physiotherapy at Griffith University, Gold Coast. I really enjoy working with people to manage and treat a variety of problems; I have a large interest in sporting injuries. I enjoy the challenge physiotherapy offers to me on a daily basis!



Rachel Laws

After graduating from Charles Sturt University, I completed my dry needling accreditation. My special interest areas are lower back pain, knee injuries and neck pain but I enjoy treating a wide variety of conditions. I have taken a big shine to Tamworth and am very keen to stay put with a few acres for some cattle!




Jake McManus

I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Townsville and then moved to Tamworth. I have a keen interest in most sports, and I play rugby league for the North Tamworth Bears. I also enjoy playing tennis and golf.
